Commissioning
Whether you are commissioning something as large as a full handmade kitchen or as small as a jewellery box I will endeavour to make the process as seamless as possible to deliver a commission which will hopefully exceed your expectations.
After initial contact it will be my pleasure to visit you in your home to discuss your requirements in more detail. I will take measurements where required and also show you a broad selection of samples for you to search through to see what suits your colours or decor. If there are specific timbers/veneers or granite etc which I don’t have I will make every effort to source these prior to our initial consultation or further in the process.
I will then produce a set of CAD (Computer Aided Design) drawings for you which will hopefully give you a detailed representation of your commission. These will then be presented to you with your selection of samples and it is here where if required changes can be made to design or finishes.
Once you have agreed the design and material choices a deposit will be required prior to manufacture. I will also give you an approximate lead time for delivery/installation but I will also take into consideration a specific date you may require the commission to be completed for.
Now the furniture will go into production and all the raw materials will be ordered ready to be machined and crafted. During this process I will sometimes keep you updated on my progress and in some circumstances I may need further discussions with you regarding material choices which couldn’t be made at the design stage.
Once the piece is finished it will be delivered/installed by myself and or with additional helpers in a timely manner as to not disrupt you too much. After this point the remainder of the balance will be due.
I hope I have explained everything which you require but please if you should have any questions then please do not hesitate in contacting me and I will be happy to help with any queries you may have.
